Well, I can now say that I have fulfilled one of my resolutions for the year: I am officially #DeGoogled!
A resolution that I was considering, but after what happened with @timnitGebru it was easier for me to take.

First of all, I got rid of my gmail account in favour of a more secure and data-friendly solution like the one offered by the wonderful @TutanotaTeam
The second decision was to get rid of other applications such as Drive or GooglePhotos. I opted to build a small cloud at home with @Synology.
Now all my files and photos are secure.

Last but not least I decided to change my mobile phone and android system. The phone I bought was the @Fairphone 3+ accompanied by the degoogled solution provided by @e_mydata
Not everything is wonderful. So far I have not been able to find an application as good as GoogleMaps. However, other applications such as @DeepLcom are as good or better than GoogleTranslate.
Obviously in terms of web-search @DuckDuckGo is a well-established alternative.

There are other alternatives to the ones I have mentioned above that can be just as good. See @ProtonMail , @ownCloud , @thepine64 and many more.
Talking about data privacy, I have often heard: "I don& #39;t know why you make such a big deal out of it, do you have something to hide?"
The problem is not that I do or do not have to hide my data, but that my data can affect third parties in a negative way.

For example, your salary data may affect your neighbours when they apply for a mortgage or a loan.
And even if there are regulations, sitting still is not an option.

In conclusion, I wanted to write this thread to let you know that you can live without Google.
It can be complicated, but it is feasible.
