#StrayKids Kingdom analysis; a thread

<I’ll be your man>

Intention: we can sacrifice everything, for that person to come back.
Plot: A boy who skz treasured was gone. Skz pray for him to come back. They sacrificed their lives for the boy to revive at the end.

Costume:
Opposite to their last performance, skz are devils dressed in black, and the dancers are angels dressed in white. The boy also dressed in white as an angel, indicating his innocence and purity.

Major lighting colours:
Blue: sadness, yearning
Red: de4th, blo0d, sacrifice

At the beginning of the performance, seungmin kneeled in front of the statue of the boy with a flower for him, indicating that the boy is someone they lost.
Lighting: blue/green - regret, sadness

As Han kneeled in front of the boy. green lights vanished and everything was blue, emphasizing the mood of sadness.

Outline of a boy is present at the top of the stairs. Changbin tried to chase after him, but the boy vanished. He fell down the stairs with red lighting, indicating the boy’s de4th.

The clock in the background shows their eagerness of turning time back and bring the boy back.

When the boy was present, the filter was black and white; when he vanished, the colour turned back, implying that the boy was gone and his presence was an illusion from memory.
The boy pulled changbin up and wiped away his tears, showing his caring towards the members.

The Gates of Hell in the background:
The Gates of Hell is a monumental sculptural group work by French artist Auguste Rodin that depicts a scene from the Inferno.
There’s a line abt it: “Abandon every hope, who enter here."

The Gates of Hell opened and they entered it at the end of chorus, indicating that they were ready to risk anything to bring the boy back.
Lighting for the entire chorus was red, foreshadowing their cruel fight with the angels.

Lyrics from this part are their words to the boy. (Original lyrics are in the second pic, which is very different from skz’s version)

“Sacrifice your life with the abyss”

Han rubbed his own hand against the knife and put his blood into the container. The blood represents their sacrifice to the boy.

After Han put his blood into the container, Felix and the devils took out an Easter egg from the back. The egg can represent their heart as well, highlighting their sacrifice.

*Easter: a festival commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

As the egg is handed to the boy’s statue, sound of a drop of blo0d appeared and the whole stage was stained red by the blood. Red color, once again, symbolizes de4th, blo0d, and sacrifice.

At the end, the statue of the boy was gone and the boy was on stage, hugging chan to give him comfort. The other members lied in the darkness, showing no sense of life at all, as a result of their “sacrifice”. Logo of skz in the background is in RED. Again.

The words written on changbin’s neck:
EVIL WON - They are the evils who fought with the angels and won. Their sacrifice of their lives was the victory of their fight.
NOW LIVE - Their words to the boy. Now you are alive again, so “now live”.

The angels tried to stop them from sacrificing their lives, because the role of angels was to protect everyone from hurting themselves. However, they chose to give up their lives to bring the boy back. That’s why the template of angels they were in collapsed after the sacrifice.
