For 5 months, we’ve followed this woman on a journey of rediscovery. It began here, at this moment, and ended on February 13 in the GFVIP confessional.
During those 5 months we had the pleasure of knowing Rosalinda Cannavò.

A sweet girl, but with many faults. A girl who tried to do good, but made many mistakes. And yet she was true, she was real, and we fell in love with her. We saw ourselves in her insecurity, but were inspired by her bravery.
She tried, and that was all that mattered.

But for whatever reason, on February 14th something changed. I’m not going to try to theorise why bc the truth is no one knows.
She came out of that confessional... changed. We all saw it. She was devastated, angry, upset and now it is clear - On that day, we lost Rosalinda.

From then on, the name ‘Rosina’ started to make a more prominent appearance. Apart from being a horrible name, the question was why would she accept this change when rediscovering her name and identity was such an important part of her journey?
The answer is simple.

When you live a life that is not yours, you need to dissociate your real self from the fake self. It’s psychology. For example, actors get into character with a different name, outfit, even appearance, and at the end of the day they discard it and return to their true selves.
For Rosalinda, the premise is the same. Why would she be so adamant that we call her Rosina? She who has always placed such an importance on names, ask yourself 2 questions.
‘You have never called me by my real name.’
Why? Because that was not real life. That’s why.

Many times in the house Dayane would accidentally call her Adua after the name change, and Rosalinda would get PISSED.
Because that was Rosalinda, not Adua.
And now her annoyance is due to the fact that this is Rosina, not Rosalinda.
The distinction is VERY significant.

Notice the signs; the Twitter and Instagram with the name ‘Adua’ and the old photo. The constant use of the name ‘Rosina’. No sign of the curly hair the whole of Italy associated with ‘Rosalinda’.
It’s important for HER. To protect herself, her sanity and to honour her journey.

I know it’s difficult for those of us who have followed her for 5 months to see this almost regression, but there is a very important reason behind it.
Though for such a huge drama to be made about it by us, the people who claim to understand her the most, is embarrassing.

Why she is doing this? No idea. That is something only she knows and will finish with when the time is right.
