Today we'll discuss #remote_work and let's find out how to stay productive, remote work benefits and challenges & the tools that can help us be more productive 🧑‍💻
Let's get started with the thread 🧵
As the #COVID_19 continues to surge the world is going remote, now they both sound like synonyms to each other.
Working from home has its own merits over normal day office works. But staying productive while working from home is also hard. From now on this is the future of work.
It is a win-win situation for both the employer and employees!
The #employer can hire the best talents 🧠 around the globe 🌎 no matter where they are, also they do not have to set up and run an office which leads to major #cost_cuttings
This way many start-ups can start their journey by investing a minimal cost in setting up their company and focus more on building and delivering valuable products and services ✌️
#Employees, do not have to commute daily to the office which saves their major part of time & expense. They can maintain good food and health, improve work-life balance, and be more productive until they do not work from their bed! 🛏️💻
Work from bed?
Yes, you get it right!
It is one of the main reasons where we can go unproductive, as our brain 🧠 interpret bed with sleep 😴 and we start feeling sleepy while working on the bed 🛌
So for remote a good workspace is a must from where we can work more productive.
"You need to create an environment for yourself that creates the sense that you’re leaving personal time and entering work time"

Once done, now it's time to prepare a proper schedule for work as home doesn't mean to work at any time we want to.
Stick to a set schedule and create a routine.
To do this divide your day into catchup hour, collaboration & serious work.

Take breaks and come back refreshed.
Now we're prepared for work,
but there is still a problem❗️

We may have all our stuff spread across emails, chats, spreadsheets, meetings, etc., and in between these we may lose file as well as time! 😖

So let's get some tools to manage this stuff.
@basecamp is one of the oldest #productivity tools that help you to set up your office and manage your team remotely. It provides a great work experience with its simple UI where you can create and manage your projects & team, share files, and communicate with your team remotely.
While @NotionHQ provides tons of features for everyone not just to manage #remote work, it also provides features to manage almost all types of work even your notes!
Easy to set up with a number of templates to choose from and completely free for personal use! 💯
And yes the most loaded with #features and one complete tool where you can manage your work, set goals, run sprints, create events, time tracking, docs, and lot many more is @clickup even you can send and receive #emails 📩 directly in the tool 🔥
What I like most about @clickup is that it supports lots of regular apps to integrate into the tool and also we can migrate all our projects/tasks from an existing tool to ClickUp easily ❤️ saving you a lot of time!
These are some of my favorite tools that I personally like to use.
Let us know your favorite tool and how you use them, maybe also share some #productivity hacks!
Time to conclude but let's burst some #myths before we go!

#1 Magic only happens when we are all in a room.
It's not true anymore! Creativity often comes when our mind is alone. That's why sprints are most productive when done individually.
Office hours involve a lot of meetings but it's toxic! It's mostly about random ideas & abstract concepts! So every minute we avoid spending in a meeting is a minute we can get real work done instead.
#2 If I can't see them, how do I know they are working?
Most managers feel #remote work lacks trust but just showing up in the office doesn't guarantee #productivity.
If you're struggling with trust issues it means you made a poor hiring decision. You're a #manager, not a #babysitter.
The question is not about, How do I know they're working if I can't see them?
The real question is, What do they do when no one is around!
#3 Remote work is a 24X7 job.
No! Companies hire #remote workers across the globe and they work in flexible work hours. Remote teams adjust their work time into few #overlapping work hours where they can get together for meetings and discussions.
Some great #resource to read on #remote_work

Here is a great book by the @basecamp team do give it a read.
