Let's start with Lance Sweets, since he's a pianist, it's really obvious to me that he plays the melodica

When he was little, Hodgins' parents made him take instrument lessons and let him choose an instrument. He obviously chose the trumpet because it was the noisiest one, and it worked because his parents stopped insisting about him learning music.

He was actually really good at playing but when he was rehearsing at home he would just play terrible to annoy his parents because they forced him to start playing :)

He will never admit it but when Zack was little he loved reading Sherlock Holmes and he learned to play the violin because of him

No reasonable explanation for this but Cam played the Clarinet at the school orchestra. And yes, there were litteraly 4 kids in that orchestra.

Since we already know Aubrey was in a Glee club, plays the guitar and the harmonica. It makes sense to me that he plays the banjo too

Fisher learned to play the drums because he thought it would look edgy and it would help him with the girls. But he also plays the Ocarina and he's really never going to admit that he's that much of a geek.

Vincent plays the electric guitar, i don't have an explanation for that but he's the kind of guy who plays Wonderwall and you can't change my mind.

Daisy plays the flute, and she's surprisingly REALLY good at it
