Random mini thread story thing...

Years ago I had to photo shizzle a VIP visiting some military types, it usually involves lots of walking backwards in front of the VIP taking photos of them meeting and talking to the people they meet

I always get there early and find out what the sequence of events are and decide what the special moments could be and what doesn't need photo shizzling. As I was recce'ing the place and meeting the various displays that had been set up for the VIP to look at and show what

The different people did and stuff to show the VIP several people who had been picked to meet the VIP (this always happens) asked if I could get a nice photo of them talking to VIP and I gave them contact details so I could get the photos to them

As I went to the next little part of the displays I noticed that the 2 Pixelated Faced Men on the display were both mates that I'd worked with a few years earlier and I'd not seen for a while. We had a good little catch up & arranged that after the VIP thing we'd go for a coffee

The catchup had taken a fair bit of time and one of the organisers gave me the 2min warning that VIP was about to arrive. I went to my first photo shizzle job which was the boss of the place meeting the VIP ready to hurry up and wait

The VIP arrived on time and the visit started well and the VIP was proving very popular and taking time to stop and talk with everyone and was asking lots of questions about the different displays that had been set up for them to look at and be shown demonstrations etc

After a while the VIP made it to the display immediately before mate's display, it was a display about aerial reconnaissance and had some shiny pics up a wall to show the sorts of pics they get along with some pics of the various platforms that got the pics

Such as satellites, aircraft etc. The VIP was particularly interested in this display and asked lots of questions. In particular they loved the photos of the examples and asked about them. The people at the display told the VIP about the way they were taken and what they had been

Taken from. VIP pointed at a pic ask asked if it was taken from a satellite, "That's actually taken from a Canberra" was the reply. Few seconds later and the VIP asked about another photo stating that surely that was from a satellite, "That's also taken from a Canberra"

The VIP made a little joke about we might as well use the Canberra for everything and bin the rest.

The VIP moved to the next display where my 2 Pixelated Faced mates were standing in front of a display of assault kit set up in front of a display board

Full of very cool photos of Pixelated Faced Men doing Pixelated stuff. The VIP stopped and looked at the photos the first one was of helicopter assault on to a moving train, the photo was taken from between the carriages looking along the roof of the carriages

As a helicopter hovered a few feet off the carriage as Pixelated Faced Men with guns jumped on to the roof of the carriage and a second helicopter was heading in in the background. A pretty awesome photo ;-)

The VIP pointed at the photo and said "Wow, that is an amazing photograph!" My Pixelated Faced Mate quickly replied "It was taken from a Canberra"

Never seen a VIP laugh so much. For the rest of the visit there was several mentions of the Canberra whenever photos were mentioned
