This thread by Mukund trashes the govt and it& #39;s modelling.
It would be interesting to have some rebuttals, if any, from the experts.

Actually it& #39;s pretty frustrating.

Modelling in first wave predicted doom and we emerged with mere bruise.
Now the cases keep surpassing whatever the model predicts.

I asked @agrawalmanindra about how his model would function if under reporting wa happening.
He was kind enough to tell me that the model will catch that.

I am not statistician but I think if case positivity keeps rising and esp if the tests done are not rising, it would mean that data being fed is wrong.
What has completely taken me by surprise is the near consistency of the wave throughout India. It& #39;s too homogenous and is completely disregarding all variables.

I have also predicted that we will not have a huge second wave as per how this virus behaved in 2020.
This virus has outsmarted us all.

I have tried to ananlyse why we could not pick the second wave here in this thread. https://twitter.com/RanaKumbha/status/1384332392547065860?s=19">https://twitter.com/RanaKumbh...
As for being snarky, yes the writer has made a little fun of the modeller by pointing out his <smiley faces> more than once which is not really great IMO.

A modellers job is difficult.
