Types of ethical nonmonogamy:
A THREAD

Polyamory: a relationship where 2 or more people are open to having multiple sexual or romantic relationships

Hierarchal polyamory: a partnership that has a set of “primary partners” and then can also pursue other secondary partnerships
Open relationship: a couple who is in a relationship but also can seek out other sexual partnerships

Monogamish: a couple who is mostly monogamous but will have pre-negotiated sexual relationships with others in certain circumstances
Polyfidelity: a group of partners who are all engaged in a romantic or sexual relationship with each other. No one dates outside the group.

Swingers: a couple who engages in mutual sexual acts with others as a form of joint recreation
Casual dating/sex: less of a relationship style but still worth mentioning— people who are causally seeing each other but still seeing others as well.

Relationship anarchy: a relationship with no set expectations within the constraints of a few mutually agreed upon boundaries.
Let me know if you want me to do more in depth threads on different relationship styles! I love talking about love, sex and relationships and have been in multiple healthy polyamorous relationships. It’s important to educate people on what is possible in terms of relationships!
