I was stuck at 150 email subs for months.

Here's how you can 10x your email list:

Step 1: Create an asset.

Design a quick asset in Figma or Canva that you would find helpful for yourself.

Make sure there is overlap with your target audience.

This piece of content is going to be your lead magnet.

Examples:

- An interactive calculator
- Your full content strategy
- A short, free online course
- You fully organized tech stack
- An ebook on how to design graphics
- A checklist for a complicated process
- A sheet of the most popular tweets ever

Step 2: Set up a simple landing page.

And I mean simple.

Tell a quick story about the asset, why it's helpful, and why someone should steal it.

Label the header as "Steal My [Blank]"

Tips:

- Short, punchy copy
- Notify of email opt-in
- No scrolling, just a hero
- Make sure you say "Free"
- Say exactly what the asset is
- Pixelate the lead magnet image

Step 3: Optimize for speed.

Point the submission redirect straight to the file so the whole experience takes less than 15 seconds.

You want this to be quick and easy.

Get the asset in their hands as swiftly as possible.

Step 4: Promote on LinkedIn.

I know, I know. LinkedIn ain't great.

But this works.

Make a post that:

1. Asks if you want to steal XX
2. Tells the "why" behind making it
3. Invites them to "steal" it

Here is the copy I used:

"Wanna steal my entire online strategy?

I have a 1-slider that details it all out.

I've spent years refining my content strategy.
I've tested SO many different things.
I've whiffed on a LOT of them.

And now?

"I have a refined 1-slider that simply visualizes my strategy.

Reply to this post with STEAL and I'll DM it to you"

And when they comment, DM it to them.

Simple as that.

Optimize your post for quick comments and respond to all replies.

Step 5: Promote on Twitter.

Make a tweet that:

1. Asks if you want to steal XX
2. Invites them to retweet
3. Invites them to reply "steal

Optimize this for retweets (by specifically asking for them.)

Respond to every reply.

DM the asset ASAP to replies.

Step 6: Convert them on landing page.

Your LP should be set up to convert now.

Make sure it is synced up with your email list form.

These people will be highly engaged and very likely to join your list quickly.

Step 7: Send a great welcome email.

Make sure you have a welcome email set up that:

- Incentivizes replies
- Gives immediate value
- Sets frequency expectations
- Asks the new sub a question
- Gets them excited for the next email
- Gives away another free asset if possible

Step 8: Repeat with new lead magnets.

When you have another valuable piece of content, try this again.

Generate intrigue by only releasing it thru DMs.

If you get enough replies that manual DMs are too much, edit the post after the fact with a link to sign up directly.

I've since grown this to over 2700 subscribers using this method.
