High time preference architecture vs. low time preference architecture.

A thread...
One is obsessed with the current trend and making a relevant statement. The other is concerned about timeless beauty.
One is built cheap to minimize cost and maximize profit. The other is built well to maximize value.
One will deteriorate quickly, need repairs, remodels and soon, replacing. The other, with a little love, will last forever.
One is built quickly, and then deteriorates quickly. The other takes much thought and time and matures as it ages.
One sucks the soul out of the community for the profit of the few. The other brings beauty and value to the owner and the community for generations.
Next time you're designing, buying, building or renovating a house or property, make sure you're making low time preference decisions.
