Reselling drastically changed my life for the better the past few years, and it helped me learn several valuable skills đź’°

Skills Learned Through Reselling

A Thread:
Flipping, while a very simple art is heavily endorsed as a great introduction to business by legends like @garyvee who used to dominate New Jersey sports card shows in his early days

Here's what flipping teaches....
Negotiating

Pretty self explanatory!

Putting yourself in a bartering situation as the seller introduces you to real business decisions, it's been cool to see that from a young age.

Especially on local deals where you have to actually meet the person, etc
Capital Allocation

Very important at the start on a small budget and when trying to scale.

Comparing sales volume to how much of a certain product to buy with respect to your capital available is useful.

The original Portfolio Diversification
Marketing

Knowing how to position your product through keyword hacking, descriptions, and photos to ensure you get sales over competitors is a stable on sites like eBay and Facebook Marketplace.

Also include photography in this.
Customer Service

People want there stuff fast, and in perfect condition. Some people just suck to do business with, and that's the reality of it in life.

Dealing with this in my teens and early adult life has taught me a lot.
Reading Market Data & Trends

We've seen this like crazy the past year with pools, weights, and cancel culture items like Mr. Potato Head.

Flipping teaches you how to read data made available by platforms of completed sales history...
This allows you to make educated buying decisions on products and to leave others behind.

This pays off in numerous other avanues of life as do many of the others on this list
Reselling has given me a lot and has done the same for many others on here who now have transitioned into bigger things, I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have any!
