I'm putting this out into the world because apparently I have a tendency to rock the boat & said rocking upsets ppl. I use my privilege and megaphone to get people riled up. I take things up an extra notch or two ON PURPOSE. I am not naive or unaware of what I am doing. A Thread
I am in a position where I can exaggerate to get ppl's attention and make them angry. [Many pay me to do this for them.] But until ppl are shook out of complacency, they don't act. Again rocking the boat on purpose.
I feel like this is obvious in my work, but am starting to realize ppl sometimes don't realize what I am doing [probably because they are too complacent and afraid of action but that is another issue]. So I am spelling it out.....
I rant and rile up on purpose. I say the things that often others think are too controversial or exaggerated to say. But this is how people feel and they need someone in power to make a stand. I will do this. But don't ever think I am not fully aware of what I am doing or why.
I. Am. Always. Aware. I am a professional writer and presenter. I choose every word I say carefully. Even as I make myself seem casual and approachable [also on purpose].
If you want to dismiss me as naive, do that at your own peril. But mostly those who do this are the same ppl who are unwilling to think big and ACT.
I am not interested in the status quo. If you haven't noticed, that is not working out well for everyone. And precisely because it IS working out for me, it is my job to rock the boat of the status quo and make change that improves this world for all.
Again, ignore me at your own peril because I might not always be "right," but I am always trying to be "better."
