We had a great visit today with Transportation Secretary @PeteButtigieg, @SecondGentleman, @DeborahRossNC, and David Price who visited @NCStateCCEE. We shared with them our seismic research for @AlaskaDOTPF,and @CaltransHQ, as well as work on UHPC.

That's CFL lab manager, and research Professor Greg Lucier talking with @SecretaryPete and @SecondGentleman about Ultra high performance concrete. Greg is showing the steel fibers embedded in UHPC. It was an incredible effort by Greg to do the test in real time for our visitors!

If you would have told me that I was going to be speaking with @SecretaryPete about how bridges are designed to resist earthquakes before last week.... 2021 is definitely off to a better start than last year. In my world, this qualifies as a Forrest Gump moment!
