I get that you have to coddle your superstars and Rodgers needs to feel included in everything the #Packers do, but when it comes to picking players not a single guy in the Ron Wolf tree would allow someone in the locker room to dictate who he drafts. Wolf himself said ...
this week that if he liked a guy a lot, he would absolutely have done what Gutekunst did in drafting Love. The GM job is to look after the long-term future of the organization. No one can predict when a guy's talent will fall off the cliff and so you have to be prepared. Besides,
he didn't draft a ready-made QB. He drafted a guy everyone knew would need a few years to develop, so there wasn't a threat of him taking over anytime soon. It makes me wonder if Love has looked really good in practice and Rodgers sees the writing on the wall or if it's just ...
the pick of Love that ticks him off so much. I do know Rodgers likes to have control - shoot, he got Roll out the barrel and beer bottle races back up on the video board at Lambeau Field -- and the Packers give him a lot, but having a say in who is drafted just doesn't fly.
