In 1990’s newly emerged AICTE has given eligibility for those passed Bachelors degree in Engineering as faculty and that rot continued till 2016-17.Hardly one can find 10% 0f the GATE qualified as faculty in all private education institutions in India. How they managed?(2 of 5)
Deemed Universities played their own charm bypassing both UGC and AICTE.Funds from all sources like DST has hardly produced note worthy finding.Getting NAAC is much easy than getting a Covid Jab.Funds we’re swallowed.(3 of 5)
Inspection was made farce by AICTE and Universities.Brushing aside all norms,IT was made as if it is universal vaccine for all viruses.Biological sciences, Mechanical, Civil,Electrical do need AI and Machine learning.(4 of 5)
Introduce AI with various courses and make engineers competent. Now,CSE students get 4 lakhs p.a, why Mechanical or Civil is getting 1 Lakhs p.a.?Colleges are paying 4th pay commission.Neglect and suffer .Not Lecture ,see the problem.Not winning elections.(5 of 5)
Unfortunately ,1990-2016,faculty with Bachelors degree in Engineering taught courses.Hardly 5-8% qualified in GATE to pursue their Masters.Less-than 2% pursued their Ph.D. with fellowship. Much worse is with so called crazy ECE & CSE faculty. Engineering doomed thanks to AICTE.
Industry can’t afford or don’t want to pay @FollowCII ,Industry suffered .3 years on job training is required for Engg jobs with guidance from Academics ,Industry and Research.Continue with old methods without any technical basis,cause huge loss.Industry can’t be competitive.
Process industries can save 30% on power ,runtime and spares. Industry can adopt better methods and materials.Industry-Institute interaction a must. Pay 40% of 7th pay to Government Institution faculty and ask them to make rest through consultancy strictly as per IIIT,HYD.
Education business is flourishing in India.NIRF,NAAC rankings is a big ??When faculty,facilities are below average dreaming about research is laughable.IIT’s,IIM’s,Some NIT’s are exceptional.Jadhavpur,PSG and about 100 private institutions are OK. Rest?God Knows!!
