Hi lovelies!! As we approach the voting period for BBMAs, I figure that it’s worth mentioning that you DO NOT need 100+ followers to vote on Twitter.

Accounts pushing “gain mutuals” are suspicious in their seeking of high engagement, and I would not personally trust them.
The most recent voting rules are from 2019, and I’m not certain if new rules will be established for 2021 as yet, but as far as I can tell these are the rules currently in place. I’ll be attaching screenshots of this page but here is a link. https://www.billboardmusicawards.com/2019-voting-rules/
First, eligibility!

No mention of follower counts here. All you need is an email address or an account on the SNS platform you’re using to vote.
Next, HOW to vote.

Again, no mention of follower counts.

Your tweets need to have the hashtag for the award you’re voting for, and the full name of the artist e.g. “I’m voting for BTS for the #/BBMAsTopSocial 💜” would be valid.
One vote per tweet. One artist per tweet.
Retweets count as a vote. You should not swear or drag others in your voting tweets, either in the text or any images attached to the tweet.
Let’s look at the voting restrictions too. I think this may be where the 100 number was pulled from when this rumour started.

An individual can post 100 voting tweets per day, and can vote 100 times on the website per day too.
Do not bot. Multiple accounts aren’t allowed (I assume this is through IP tracking). You /can/ use automated tweet applications like TweetDeck to schedule voting tweets, though!
I hope this helps with any confusion in the coming month! Let’s get that paper award 💜
Obviously all of this assuming that there will be voting on Twitter this year 😅 I wasn’t able to find any info on the website about how voting is taking place this year
