Answers are great! I would however offer a potentially improved definition and some rationale...

Economic growth is the accessible extension of the frontiers of human endeavor. https://twitter.com/MaxCRoser/status/1388143886376263683
We often define economic growth in terms of consumption (more, cheaper goods/services), but if we look at what it means in the productive aspects of our lives, it gets quite a bit more interesting...

What does economic growth mean for our jobs, careers, and callings?
Economies grow when their population grows, or when they accumulate capital (factories, computers, etc), but they grow--most importantly--when innovation improves productivity. When we can do new things or produce more output with less human labor.
Maybe the best thing for people isn't the cheaper, shinier goods/services, but the new job, the more interesting work.

Maybe the best way to measure the growth in our economies is in the diversity and gravity of our jobs, careers, and callings.

Or we stick with GDP. Either way.
