since autism acceptance month is nearly over i thought i'd make my own thread on things that're ableist. allistics rt
not respecting our boundaries, like hugging / touching us without permission
overexplaining things to autistic people when they didn't even ask you to. esp in the fucking baby voice omg
making fun of our special interests / hyperfixations ( however, being hyperfixated doesn't give you a pass to support smth problematic. yall know who im talking to )
making fun of the way we stim / mocking it
able bodied nd allistics trying to participate in discussions that should only be for autistic people ( ex. r slur discourse )
saying the r slur .
saying you're ' reclaiming ' the r slur as an autistic person when you're using it to insult others. that isn't reclaiming
mocking our tics ( not all autistic people have tics but some do !! myself i have head tics from time to time )
the term ' aspergers '
