Republicans think the same type of conservative backlash Obama faced over his tax and spend policies is coming for Biden.

“This embrace of an extreme agenda will accelerate the nation’s movement back in the direction of fiscal sanity," Ted Cruz predicted https://www.huffpost.com/entry/joe-biden-tea-party-congress_n_608c0d4ee4b02e74d226adb4">https://www.huffpost.com/entry/joe...
But the GOP, still reeling from Trump, faces a problem: Biden’s policies are very popular

“Even my counties back in Indiana are happy, which is a very conservative area,” Braun said. "I think the spending part of it was smart politically because they put a sugar high out there"
Dems believe that they risk losing control of Congress if they don& #39;t act and pass the kinds of things Biden is proposing.

"This could be a very different midterm than what we’ve experienced, the see-saw, over the last 20 years," Heinrich said
(Obvious response to the latter point: ACA and the 2010 midterms)
It might be too early for a similar Tea Party-like movement to bubble up under Biden. But Obama faced nationwide Tea Party protests already at this point in his presidency --- in April 2009. Protesters even threw tea bags at the WH lawn.
