Namjoon really used coastal geomorphology to teach us about love, huh.
When waves crash, a longshore drift forms that carries sand and pebbles away in zigzag motion- until the wave loses enough energy, and pebbles eventually settle down.

"Did you survive the drift okay?"
The relationship here is being pounded by problems which are crashing like non-stop waves. The beloved, as Namjoon saw, was being torn apart in it, much like a surfer being dragged underwater, here he describes a pebble being rocked back and forth..
The saddest part... the saddest part...
Is eventually, the pebble do settle down,
Just not in the same place...
See, longshore drifts, in geomorphology, causes the pebble to be dragged far along the shore ,.. downwards.. until it settles in a more stable place.
Namjoon asking, " Did you survive the drift okay?"
He knows it was hard, he knows you were breaking too..
He asks, "But as a pebble can you stay?"
However,
The beloved has already been carried away, down the drift, has been through so much suffering, and has just found a place far away... a place where waves don't crash anymore.
And that's how he describes relationships.
His poetry, his brain.
Okay bye, I'm crying.
Annyeong yorubuuuun!!!!
