McPin is aware of the #HighIntensityNetwork (HIN), also known as 'Serenity Integrated Monitoring' (SIM), and its potential implications across #MentalHealth and the emergency services. There have been concerns raised around the speed by which this is happening, including ethics.
We have big concerns about the lack of evidence for such an approach. Where is the research upon which this is based? For something so significant addressing risk management – where is the evidence base for this roll out?
There doesn’t appear to have been much meaningful involvement with relevant, diverse #ExpertiseByExperience (service users). This would have likely identified the multiple issues that have been raised. How can this happen when co-production is so central to #MentalHealth policy?
The reaction to the potential roll-out of the HIN/SIM approach implies much more evidence & further consultation would be needed before going any further. The implications for data linkage between the police & the mental health service are also a significant cause for concern.
