As an actor/farmer my income is not stable enough to get pre qualified for a mortgage loan, so I was told to rent and get a stable job for 2+ years. So much is wrong with this.
1) We’re constantly told that buying is cheaper than renting and yet we’re forced into systems that prevent us from the cheaper option.
2) When someone is interested in buying a house, they should be asked questions like Will you steward the land? Will you respect your neighbors? And yes will you be conscientious about paying back the bank?
3) It’s 2021 - we’re still in a pandemic and if there’s one thing most people don’t have it’s stability.
4) I’m very tired of people with non traditional work being devalued financially and societally. We must change this. It’s toxic.
5) Honestly just heartbroken again because I’d be a great homeowner and a great addition to any community.
So fuck this dumb caste system - selling stolen land - forcing people into unhappy static “livelihoods” - wake me up when everyone else wakes up
