1. The tripartite "strategy" or approach - you name it - is the enshrining of a position on which the EU had been settling for a while.
2. The screening mechanism was well on track when Italy decided to join the BRI. In the number of interviews done in Brussels, nobody mentioned Italy joining the BRI as an accelerator
3. Whether one agrees or not with Italy's decision, is a different matter, as it is the impact of the BRI on the country and the continent. Yet, good data are the fundamentals of a good and helpful analysis
