I met Rob Anderson in August when he delivered a large yard sign to my house (usually requires $100 donation but I had local pull). Here are the things I know firsthand:
1. He always insisted on total control of his personal Twitter account, never letting any staff access it. Thus, the account for the show and company which he could pawn off management of to Dave and volunteers.
2. He lambasted Higgins for being a district jumper, for being unfaithful, a drug user, and alcoholic. Rob is from California. He’s unfaithful. He’s a drug user. He drinks a lot.
3. Do a background check on the 4 candidates for Congress in District 2 last year and guess who has had the most civil suits and judgments against them—gasp—it’s Rob.
4. He gave my date to his election night party his personal number and offered her to “work with him on a new project.” I’ve never had his number despite being a donor then a paid staff member. She is an attractive young woman. He didn’t offer me.
5. He claims to be working class but he hasn’t worked in years. He denigrates the Walmart crowd but he is Walmart, all day.
6. He spends most of his time in the Lafayette area, but is registered to vote in Beauregard parish in a very poor area where no one knows who he is. If they do, they don’t think too much of him. I grew up there.
7. He smokes cigarettes in his truck (as do I) and only pops on a mask when cameras are rolling.
8. He featured Bike Lafayette in the first episode of his podcast when I commented asking how he’d found out about them he publicly said “Andre helped with the campaign” or something like that. I had to beg him to show up to the event in October. He donated $50 and left—no media.
9. At that event to which I brought tons of supplies to donate, he said “You really are Captain America.” That’s when I noticed he had a Captain America shield in one of his video spots. (Not his of course, borrowed)
10. He claims to be autistic, which is fine, I don’t require proof of someone’s disability, BUT when you try to use it as an excuse for why the rules don’t apply to you, you’re a coward. I’m thinking it’s probably antisocial personality disorder, not Asperger’s.
11. He blasted Gaetz for paying for sex with Venmo, even tweeting that Gaetz had gotten a DWI, meaning he was stupid. Rob drove me about 20 miles from Broussard to River Ranch after we’d all been drinking.
12. He paid me for campaign work using PayPal and Facebook pay. I guess his Venmo was broken.
13. He locked his account.
14. I’ve done stupid shit and crossed boundaries plenty of times, but he always claims to be honest and open. Well, he ain’t. He’s welcome to discuss this with me in-person and we can livestream it.
15. He’s raised, by my estimation and somewhat close knowledge, about $500,000 for his two campaigns which averaged 8.5% of the vote each. I would’ve gotten that by spending $5,000 and I’m a “nobody.”
16. If he wishes to sue me, good luck. I’m on Medicaid. I took home less than $10,000 for the last three years and, actually, I’m missing a 1099 for a few hundred bucks of campaign work last year. Also my brother’s a lawyer. Civil suits are expensive. Save it for your defense.
17. Remember this: trust everyone but do a background check. And the only hashtag I’m using without hesitation is this one: #nomanaking and #RobAndersonIsCanceled
And...conversation muted.
