Tuition for student parents at MUN is not cheap when you take childcare costs into account.

Being a student doesn't automatically qualify you for subsidy.

Raising tuition will marginalize student parents including Black, Indigenous, Students of colour and their children.
In 2020, an increase to student loan grants for students w dependents lowered or disqualified childcare subsidy for some students.

I was left facing over $5000 in childcare & $1800 in tuition / semester.

Raising tuition means barriers for families trying to better themselves.
To address the myth, the Campus Childcare Centre DOES NOT offer reduced rates to students. It offers students 1st registration over staff.

We DO NOT have $10/day childcare yet and the decision to raise tuition fees needs to take into consideration the impact to students w kids
