Black people, we are at war. And we are not winning.

Among the things you have to say so that White people will pay you instead of shoot you:

It's soft colonialism, like laughing at your boss's unfunny jokes.

It's like letting a customer grab you on the ass for a big tip.

Politicians don't audition for the big stage by going up the elevator to Harvey Weinstein's apartment; they do it by showing their loyalty to White supremacy in front of the camera.

These aren't things you say because it's true; these are things you say because there are so many White people and they own so much capital that it seems expedient not to poke the bear.

But really, it simply confuses the nation, with enormous consequences for Black communities.
