Ok so C!Sam is actually my favourite character a bit above c!Phil and c!Wilbur and I have thoughts.
Firstly, his relationship prior to the egg was SUPERB and I miss it so so bad... Tommy had a good adult relationship literally in his hands and it was RIPPED AWAY. I’m so upset and I miss them I miss awesamdad so bad orz
Secondly, Sam— especially now, is UNFIT for his job as warden. He already had a positive relationship turned bitter with Dream and having anything other than neutral feelings towards your prisoners is definitely not something that should exist in wardens.
Additionally, he is SO traumatised. He was stuck in the egg and had to eat his own flesh to survive while still having the egg in his fucking head so you can just IMAGINE how horribly his mental state is. He also watched the slaughter house that was the banquet so there’s that,,
Since he literally loves Tommy so much and watching him die and feel Tommy’s weight suffocate him must be so horrifying. The fact that he stopped himself from killing Dream then was purely because he knew Tommy wouldn’t’ve wanted that and it hurts
EVEN THEN, he is so harsh to Tommy which is

SAME WITH PONK. Love this sudden change in character bc of trauma and the egg tho it’s so cool
The fact that also! Dream was taunting him the WHOLE time. Talking about what he did to Tommy during exile and his plans to kill Tubbo and use Tommy as his puppet and after killing Tommy LAUGHED right in front of Sam’s face. The toll this would have on him,,,
So he literally ate himself to stay alive, has the egg in his head, feels a teen’s death was purely his fault (+ a teen he cares for lots), had to deal with Dream taunting,,, you can imagine why he’s going wild,,,
So I can understand why he was so stressed and definitely couldn’t think as rationally as he should’ve when Ghostbur and Tommy went to the prison. He’s NOT fit to oversee the prison.
He’s such a complex character and I love him so much. he works so hard only for him to hurt more people and I love repercussions ....
