thread divided into 2 parts ㅡ
• soundscape analysis (production).
• short vocal analysis (eaeon & RM)

❁ i'm not any expert, these are just my grasp upon vocals and productions. I have tried my best to explain everything in utmost detail ♡!
the first thing that caught my attention was the deep sigh left out in the very beginning of the song. it's generally a sign of exhaustion and despair ㅡ the lyrics clearly show the emotions "Don't talk, not yet//I know what you're about to say". the song is in minor key, ++
with a tight synth and short beats prolly snares and hats and eaeon's honey like voice. I noticed some hollow drops in the first verse, but I'm not sure if they are really there cuz I couldn't figure them out in the instrumental ㅡ but another thing that caught my attention ++
was the 'reverb' (the echo-ey bass), this effect makes the song complimentary to the lyrics ㅡ "Our home is here, it's us//We've been through worse//This can't be the end of us//So many things left undone" ㅡ the fear of losing, falling apart is shown through the reverb, while ++
listening to this exact part I've cried.. the feelings these lines and the instrumental gives off breaks my heart ㅡ the high volume reverb gives the feeling of falling apart in love while the melody plays the role of a tight rope which is trying its best to hold on. next up ++
we have the chorus; the constant melody (a sustain guitar chord) of the song is introduced. many sound effects of clashes & bears are added in the chorus ㅡ the harmonizing vocals of rm and eaeon sounds absolutely ethereal. joon's lower register is so skilled and deep, it ++
never fails to give chills. now we have joon's verse where you can listen to the beats (w reverbs) clearly and relate to the way I expresses my feelings. the pads are played in a beat box style just like "film out" which is also a way to express "emotions through music". ++
sometimes using pads/beat boxes sounds kinda peaceful compared to a beat-boom bass/drum. idk if it's for everyone or just me, but I personally feel the comfort/warmth/coldness of the song through these beats with great reverb cuz it makes me feel like I'm falling off a high ++
cliff, and no one is there to help me. I'm falling off, but joon's vocals are comforting me, taking all my fear away, so it's like.. falling apart "fearlessly". I always appraise the melody and beats like this; in this song, for me, the beats are cold while the melody ++
(particularly the vocals) are warm. I'm in love with the chorus, honestly ! @eaeon's voice is so sweet and beautiful and goes so well with the lyrics, damn ! the chorus was the most beautiful part of the song until the bridge came up. this is the smartest bridge I've ++
listened to in a while. why I called it smart was the key ㅡ the way they transformed the entire bridge into major key while the og song is in minor key but it felt so surreal is absolutely mind blowing !! also the catch in the bridge is the harmonization and how both their ++
vocals blended so well. when I came across this twt I felt it; minor scales typically evoke feelings of sadness and melancholy while it's quite the opposite valence of emotion and a different sense of arousal in the major scales, ++ https://twitter.com/xeroyii/status/1388062671455588353?s=19
like a sense of brightness & hope. the use of minor key in the entire song portrays the emotion of it, but the major key in the bridge says a lot, let's take a look at the lyrics ㅡ "Don't you still love//I know it's not over yet//Don't say things you don't mean//I know you ++
want me to hold you too//Stay here, don't go" ㅡ the protagonist is trying to think positive, trying to convince his beloved to 'stay' with him with a hope they'll agree to stay. the questions are pretty much self-explanatory, "don't you love me?" which implies "yes you do ++
love me !" ㅡ thus the use of major key to depict "hope". this is what I mean when I say "perfect blend" ㅡ joon's lower register and @eaeon's normal scale compliments e/o and creates this beautiful chorus. the heavily reverb-ed beats cool down my soul which is again getting ++
healed and comforted by their warm vocals. now my most favorite part, which @eaeon dropped in the teaser; the outro ㅡ this part legit makes me emotional even when I'm just listening to their voice and not even looking at the lyrics ! once again, ++
the fusion of their vocals (hums) ㅡ "heavenly".

lastly, joon's lower register voice especially when he is a baritone hits really hard, cuz we barely listen to his lower register vocals. the pain eradicated through their vocals as well as the ++
lyrics is immaculate. I absolutely love how @eaeon chose RM to collab in this particular song, also the lyrics ㅡ the metaphors, personification and the mood used in the song is so wholesome, it's like a beautiful heartbreak; a comfortable fall apart, a silent glass crash. ++
thank you for reading this thread, thank you @eaeon & @BTS_twt ( #RM) for this beautiful song. please give lots of love to this song, the lyrics are out of this world. have a good day/night ahead ♡!
