Today is the last day of #AutisticPrideMonth / #AutismAcceptanceMonth so today Iā€™m going to be tweeting exclusively things I love about being autistic to hopefully fight the ableist narratives and stereotypes shared during this month. A thread šŸ§µ 1/??
I love that being autistic gives me a very set sense of moral justice and a special interest in activism, justice, advocacy etc.

I love having special interests in general- the passion I feel for things sometimes can be incredible and beautiful (and sometimes overwhelming) 2/?
I love my #ActuallyAustistic #Dyspraxia - even when I donā€™t.

Am I clumsy? Does it make shit really hard? Are some days worse ? Yeah for sure but my dyspraxia is a part of me and it means everything I do is intentionally filled with effort. My art? A lot of effort 3/??
I like thinking outside the box, being creative, having passion, loving things intensely... the way I feel life compared to allistic folk seems like a gift rather than a punishment. 4/??
Iā€™ll keep updating throughout the day today
I donā€™t care if anyone reads this

I spent the whole month watching allistic ppl debate my/other autistic folks existence & right to exist here. So I want to discuss and share a narrative about loving my #ActuallyAustistic self 5/?
I have a really productive routine that I love and it helps my day go smoothly each time. My love of routine is a freeing and happy thing not a sad thing 6/??
#Stimming gotta say I love stimming as an autistic person. I love the way it makes me feel and how I move when Iā€™m happy. I used to feel shame and now itā€™s something I love 7/??
Autistic joy for cats and almost all living things (I have a shit ton of plant babies) ...thatā€™s the tweet 8/??
The fact that despite eugenics despite all the misinformation despite everything the #ActuallyAustistic community found each other and continues to push forward and help the next generation. I feel so proud of us. 9/??
I love my comfort items!! I love how blankets and comfort items make me feel so happy and cozy and safe. I have 2 of the exact same kind of blanket and need one of them on my lap any time Iā€™m home. What are your comfort items? #ActuallyAustistic 10/?
As an #ActuallyAustistic person w comorbid ADHD Iā€™m not always sure which is which but I know my dyspraxia is directly from being autistic

I love that weā€™re all unique on the spectrum. No 1 autistic person looks the same as another. Autistic is individual. I love who we are 11/?
Another cool thing for myself about being autistic that idk if ppl know about me is I have an eidetic memory!! Which is ā€œis the ability to recall an image from memory with high precision for a brief period after seeing it only once, & without using mnemonics ā€œ itā€™s helpful! 12/?
Which makes this also a good time in this thread to bring up how many of us #ActuallyAustistic folk have visual memories and I love the way that allows me to think in such a unique and vivid way! 12/?
