We were approximately 42,000 votes away from reelecting the most abhorrent president in recent history. We lost seats in the House.A razor thin majority in both House&Senate. Who do you think will implement changes in policing policies if we lose governmental control?

With a fascist running the federal govt. They ensure their cronies are sent to important posts like the DOJ,Congress,Supreme Court,DHS,etc. Those in charge of overseeing & implement systemic changes.

Oh localities that draw congressional districts like this?This happens when the wrong local officials are in charge of redistricting.Over $1M paid in salary for someone that would likely not be there if things were equitable.

Local partisan gerrymandering happens, we end up with a Congress filled with Jim Jordan types. An entire faction of Congress that refuses to hold the populist leader to account, no matter how egregious & abhorrent his actions are.

Play until the end...

No one is asking anyone to abandon their beliefs,principles,or protests. We are just seeking better messaging. Our country will not survive another Trump-like person in office. Our country cannot afford to have another 2+ years of a McConnell Senate. We need to win.
Example

We're a Supreme Court decision away from erasing progress made on anything. e.g.,:Court effectively struck down settled case precedent that juveniles could not serve life sentences. They did it without saying that's what they were doing because SCOTUS & lifetime appointments.

So now,children who commit crimes can constitutionally be convicted to serve life sentences. Thanks to SCOTUS. Side note... 6 of 9 current SCOTUS Justices were appointed by Republican President's who lost the popular vote. So basically against the will of the majority of America

You may insist this is just "rhetorical battle online"

But check out how dangerous rhetoric can be...on the ground...

Words matter...Words have power...

You're probably wondering what all of this has to do with terrible messaging. If we do not elect people who fight back against this&the wrong ones get in power,you can protest outside of SCOTUS&White House all you want. It will not be the outcome you want.

You want to see how terrible messaging from our side hands Republicans attack ads? Here is a short screenshot compilation all posts were within just a few hours of Rashida Tlaib abolish police & prisons tweet. One that even Bernie denounced because he knows the messaging is toxic

Branding is key. If you were trying to sell a product to the most people as possible.Would you put it in a package that only appeals to a targeted audience? Or would you try&package it in a way that appeals to a wide audience knowing they'll love the product once they try it?

If anyone doubts the power of electability & knowing how to "play politics" hopefully this thread enlightens you about its importance
