i& #39;ve been seeing a lot about easy modes in games recently - and i agree. in the same vein though, i want to talk about things - little things - that games do (or don& #39;t do) that leave neurodiverse and disabled people feeling left out.
we need subtitles on games. it& #39;s not a debate. readable, clear, subtitles. we need the ability to change button assignments. we need colourblind modes. sens settings. the punishment of people that are neurodiverse or disabled should not & #39;add to the difficulty.& #39;
they can be SO SIMPLE. house flipper has a simple setting to turn cockroaches off and turn them into glass shards in case you don& #39;t like seeing them. it doesn& #39;t have to be complete overhauls in design and mechanics. it can be a toggle. please stop overlooking these things.
to add to this thread: i am neurodiverse and i also have a developmental disability called dyspraxia. i have felt left out of games before - and not just the big hard games like souls type games - even & #39;cozy& #39; games, for their complete oversights on these things.
