I arrived in Tokyo, Narita Airport this morning. I’d like to share how it’s like to enter the country in this situation👇
Right after we got off the plane, the airport staff was there to guide us three passengers. You have to walk a lot inside airport to submit all the documents and get tested.
At the saliva test, they require a quite a lot of saliva. The funny thing was they had pictures of lemon and pickled plums (Umeboshi) to help excrete saliva but apparently many people were struggling.
Then they checked my iPhone to see if I have downloaded all the apps required by the government. They even sent me test mails and also videocalled to check if my Skype account was working. Those who don’t have a smartphone would have hard time in the whole process.
After we got the test result (negative of course), finally we entered the country. I found my luggages like this.
Since Finland is listed as one of countries where new variant has been spread, I need to quarantine in a hotel for three days. The bus to the hotel looked like this!😅 The walls and seats are covered with plastic.
I checked in a hotel. I didn’t even choose nor book the hotel. They provide an accommodation and meals for three days for FREE, which I appreciate a lot🙇‍♂️🙏
This is a nice room with a double bed, clean toilet, bathtub and a view of the runway of the airport.
One thing I forgot to mention was that all the inspectors and the airport staff at both of Helsinki and Narita airport were so kind and friendly. I’d like to Thanks their great work and support!
