I am here at Berjaya Times Square Hotel to check out @jalilword & #39;s 900 sqft 5R4B show unit by Better Malaysia Foundation. Hotel staff doesn& #39;t know about it but they contacted corporate and it exists so I am waiting at the lobby for someone to take me to it.
While waiting, I found this floorplan on Twitter for the dual key unit. There is also another layout without the dual key apparently. Based on the bed availability, 7 people can sleep, if you exclude using double deckers.
The show units are built from a Berjaya Times Square serviced residence, so placements of things such as where the windows are isn& #39;t final. It& #39;s meant to show how a 900 sqft 5R4B layout could work with when used with small minimalist furniture. This is the non-dual key layout:
I took these photos to show the size of the bathroom. My shoe size is UK12, if it matters? I am around 180cm tall and 96kg. The bathrooms are small, so when you shower I think everything will be wet. But that might be better than queueing to use a reduced amount of bathrooms.
I don& #39;t really use the kitchen in my house, so I hope the pix can help you judge whether it is usable. Maybe a bit hard to cook for a family that needs 5R, and neither of the show units have a fridge, so I am not sure where you would put that in actual usage.
This is the yard of both the dual key and the non dual key units. You could probably get by if you have a washer+dryer combo as I don& #39;t think there& #39;s space to air dry. Ironing would have to be done in the living room while watching the TV. Else, there is always the dobi life...
Here are a few more shots of the bedrooms in the non dual key 900 sqft unit. They don& #39;t look too bad actually, but you must have a disciplined non-hoarder lifestyle. Like I said before the key is furniture designed for small houses.
These are the bedrooms in the dual key unit. For this layout the house is separated to a 1R1B unit and another 3R2B unit. This layout is less convenient for the family unit as the common bath is next to the kitchen, you can see the floorplan in an earlier post in this thread.
This is the 1R1B unit as part of the dual key access layout. It& #39;s basically a small studio separated out from the rest of the layout. But it& #39;s the GrabFood and dobi life for whoever is staying here.
The last of my pix, the living rooms. Wish I could have taken more in detail but a bit malu lah in front of the Berjaya employees who accompanied me. Anyone with questions, if I can answer I will, else come check out the units yourselves.
i note in some responses the concern of high furnishing cost, just to add on that @jalilword said the plan is to sell these as fully furnished units so they would come with space-saving furniture appropriate for the layout and size https://twitter.com/jalilword/status/1387799864315047936">https://twitter.com/jalilword...
