As Juan said, when he started his journey people around said, try not losing 5-0 or 6-0. But he wasn't here to give into that. He was here to CHALLENGE. And O Boy, did he !

Juan sent out his troops. 4-1-4-1 with ishan up front and edu bedia controlling the tempo. Ortiz on the wings but would play false 9 later on. Defensive stability and quick transitions were key. The positional awareness of Glan and brandon were immense in pulling it off.

But Persepolis were too good to be beat. They score two in quick succession and take the lead. Goa wouldn't RELENT but just couldn't find another goal. FT. 2-1 reads the scoreline. Massive result .I don't think we understand the MAGNITUDE of holding the Iranian champions to a 2-1
Thought Goa were done ? Nahh. They were a team on a MISSION. Move on to game number five. Al Rayyan the opponents. Managed by a world cup winning coach. To put stuff into perspective, their captain alone was WORTH much more than the entire goa team COMBINED

Heartbreaking draw. But this time, it was different. Goa weren't just holding on, the intent was to WIN. The CONFIDENCE on the ball, the positional play, the link up play was something we've been DREAMING to see from an indian team against asian giants for ages.

Goa had a few PROMISING moves of their own with Brandon and Jesuraj combining well but the task was well cut out. The team from UAE made no mistake, scored two deserving goals and took home a COMFORTABLE victory.

And with that, the journey came to an END. Goa finish third in the group, ahead of Al Rayyan, a club who came third in the Qatari league last season. if u thought that was POSSIBLE before the tournament started, u are lying !

@FCGoaOfficial leave, but with their HEADS HELD HIGH.The likes of Glan, Dheeraj, Brandon, Seriton along with the CLASS of Ortiz, Ivan and Edu have put India on the Asian Football map. The magnitude of what they've achieved is beyond what we could have EVER EXPECTED.
They leave knowing that, When a whole country was struggling, they were able to bring a SMILE on the faces of a few. They leave knowing that they have made the whole country PROUD and truly, have earned a new fan !

If there's any team that deserves all this PRAISE, its fc goa. After having to almost completely REBUILD this season, The hard work of @akshaytandon117, the scouting team and everyone involved behind the scenes is bearing fruit and we have WITNESSED the BEST of it

Started off with hoping to not get humiliated. Finished with hoping to get a win against Al Wahda. If there's anything that Fc Goa's journey has taught us, it's to BELIEVE. To believe that with the right person at the helm, we can SCALE HEIGHTS never scaled before. #IndianFootball
