1/17) @akashrnigam is on to something special. Genies could be one of the most culturally-significant NFTs of our lifetimeđź‘Ź

Those of us who played WoW, Coke Music, Habbo Hotel etc... have been living in virtual worlds for decades.

Why @genies can change the game 🔥

A THREAD https://twitter.com/akashrnigam/status/1387426974633582596
2/17) I was obsessed with virtual worlds as a kid. World of Warcraft, Coke Music, Habbo Hotel, GTA etc. I was a nerd who enjoyed hanging out with online friends more than IRL friends.

Virtual worlds opened up a new realm of possibilities that weren't viable in the physical world
3/17) PART 1 - WOW

In World of Warcraft, you're tasked with creating a character, leveling up, going on raids and completing quests.

The best part was having the ability to customize my character's appearance, clothes, and accessories.
4/17) My main character was a tailor that crafted clothing and accessories that I sold to vendors & other players for in-game gold. This gold could be used to purchase additional clothing, armor, and weapons in-game.

These items are a symbol of clout or prestige in-game.
5/17) To take it a step further, my first experience with virtual currency was World of Warcraft gold. Veteran players built online marketplaces where you could exchange WoW gold for fiat currency.

I bought my sound system at 16 by selling gold through this virtual exchange.
6/17) Real people spent significant sums of money to buy WoW gold and accessorize their character's clothing or armor.

You see where I'm going with this? Good. Let's dive into Coke Music....
7/17) PART 2 - COKE MUSIC

Coke Music (aka Coke Studios) was created in 2002. Coke Music was one of the first interactive MMOs where people could interact with their virtual avatar.

They also had an in-game currency called decibels.
8/17) You could earn decibels by creating soundtracks in the game and playing them in public venues around other virtual avatars.

To start off, each avatar has an empty apartment. The more decibels you earn, the more you can accessorize your apartment and avatar's apparel.
9/17) Similar to WoW, online marketplaces sprouted where you could buy decibels w/ fiat currency to accessorize your apartment & pimp out your avatar.

Digital Avatars usually interacted in Coke Music's lounge, or other avatar's apartments.
10/17) No one wanted to hang out in the studio apartments with no furniture or sound system. Your apartment was a symbol of clout, prestige & in-game experience, you wanted to have a cool apartment so people hung out there.

Think virtual bachelor pad...
11/17) PART 3 - GENIES

Genies isn't a completely new concept, digital avatars & virtual worlds have existed for decades. However, putting digital avatars on the blockchain is transformational.
12/17) Coke Music shut down in 2007 after a wild 5 years. When Coke Music disappeared, my avatar, my apartment, my soundtracks, and my years of hard work vanished with it.

@Genies solves this issue with decentralized blockchain technology.
13/17) When @Genies launches on @flow_blockchain I will have permanent and perpetual access to my avatar, his clothes, and accessories.

Brands like @gucci, @Allbirds, and @Nike can create a separate revenue stream with virtual clothing to accessorize these avatars.
14/17) Similar to Coke Music, I see a future where our @genies avatar represents our identity in the metaverse.

Clubhouse rooms, virtual conferences, speaking panels and more can all be hosted in the metaverse.
15/17) The metaverse can provide networking opportunities, socializing events, concerts & even horse races.

There is a future where we spend a considerable amount of our day living through our digital avatar in the metaverse, and @genies is crafting the narrative.
16/17) Why fly to Miami for a crypto event when you can meet up on virtual beachfront property with your @genies avatar in the metaverse? These things are coming sooner than you'd think.
17/ 17) If you can't tell, I'm pretty excited about this project and the realm of possibilities.

What are your thoughts on @genies, virtual worlds and how it might shape our future? Let's hear it in the comments.
