Uenoyama and Hiiragi are my favourite characters in Given cause they get overlooked and mischaracterized by the fandom. I really relate to the both of them and I wish they weren& #39;t dumbed down to just "being mean" cause they& #39;re really not. They& #39;re confused teenagers who
have a lot of emotional trauma and don& #39;t know how to handle it. People ignore how Yuki& #39;s death affected Hiiragi because of how he took it out on Mafuyu. He doesn& #39;t hate Mafuyu at all, infact he wants Mafuyu to like him more than anything. He wants forgiveness that was a very big
thing in s1, it was a very big thing in one of the episodes! And continues to be important in the manga!
Uenoyama and Hiiragi argue a lot because they& #39;re one of the same. I think it was Mafuyu who pointed that out in the manga.
They& #39;re very similar, they don& #39;t know how to express their emotions correctly so they use anget cause it& #39;s the easiest for them.

I think that Uenoyama understands Mafuyu, but Mafuyu doesn& #39;t know how to understand Uenoyama.
I think Hiiragi is the only one who could actually understand Uenoyama. Not Mafuyu.
