Uenoyama and Hiiragi are my favourite characters in Given cause they get overlooked and mischaracterized by the fandom. I really relate to the both of them and I wish they weren't dumbed down to just "being mean" cause they're really not. They're confused teenagers who

have a lot of emotional trauma and don't know how to handle it. People ignore how Yuki's death affected Hiiragi because of how he took it out on Mafuyu. He doesn't hate Mafuyu at all, infact he wants Mafuyu to like him more than anything. He wants forgiveness that was a very big

thing in s1, it was a very big thing in one of the episodes! And continues to be important in the manga!

Uenoyama and Hiiragi argue a lot because they're one of the same. I think it was Mafuyu who pointed that out in the manga.

They're very similar, they don't know how to express their emotions correctly so they use anget cause it's the easiest for them.

I think that Uenoyama understands Mafuyu, but Mafuyu doesn't know how to understand Uenoyama.

I think Hiiragi is the only one who could actually understand Uenoyama. Not Mafuyu.
