I've been in a group about cultural appropriation on fb for a while. Very informative, very good breakdowns of CA, priority to PoC voices always.

there was a post sharing screenshots with whyt bullshit racism directed at a black person and their child
within these screenshots was a bunch of transphobia coming from the black person

some whyt trans people in the group asked for a tw since the transphobia was hidden within and not obvious

the admin got super pissed at whyt people using tw's to exercise their privilege over black voices

rather than just like.. adding a tw: transphobia

she legit said like "black people don't get tws! we just get traumatized!"

which like.. sure that's often true but that doesn't mean tw's shouldn't happen
that means tw's should happen MORE

not to mention the forced separation between 'black people' and 'trans people'
as if there aren't black trans people who she was now advocating to get double triggered

there was also some transphobia from other members in the comments that weren't being moderated

I didn't comment on any of this, I just saw it happen

so ...today the mod team posted a big REAL LIFE DOESNT HAVE TRIGGER WARNINGS shit

and a bunch of people were (rightly) like 'since when is this rightbook'

not to mention that yeah real life absolutely does have trigger warnings

in front of tv shows, before rides, on content posted around the place, etc

one of the comments on the mod post was some whyt queer talking about how they use tw's sometimes but some tw requests are just silly

and I commented like 'so this is one of the situations that led to this' and posted that desc at the top of this thread
and the mods were like 'y are you lying' and posted the link to the thread and asked me where this shit happened

so I screencapped the admin's own comments and posted them like 'maybe I got the wrong idea but'

and the mod was like 'thanks for sharing, also goodbye' and booted me

the part that really kills me is the comparison of 'black' vs 'trans' as if those groups are mutually exclusive

"you think trans ppl have it bad? try being black!" like.. what classic transphobia
PoC trans women are the most killed group every year, miss me with that shit

as if trans is a 'white person thing' fuck off

I was already kinda edging towards leaving that group, and the 'no trigger warnings in real life!' bs pushed me even closer
like, nooot a fan of the direction this is headed

not to mention she was using intersex status to try and be authority on transphobia... oof
there's a reason the I and the T are different identities in the acronym??
You can be intersex and not trans.

she was just telling me there was no transphobia in the group's comments so I was going to go show her the examples but whoops guess not cuz I'm booted lol

just put up a big 'this group isn't safe for trans ppl!' sign
