Nigerian politicians are the worst !!jeeez !! Sometimes you wonder if our lawmakers listen. To be frank our lawmakers are 10 times more prone to corruption than the executive. And whats worse...despite the fact they are ignorant, they prey on the ignorance of many Nigerians
..with meaningless political rhetorics that does nothing to solve the issue. Some "House" members are talking about impeaching the President because, to quote verbatim:

" We gave the President a "blank cheque" to do whatever he wants with the military. We gave him unlimited
..spending power. He has failed to provide the military with what they need. Since its obvious he cant perform he should be impeached"

Nigerian lawmakers have to the most corrupt component in Nigeria's political institutions. They are far more corrupt that state governors.
The President was almost impeached for taking $450 million from the Excess Crude Account to pay for the Super Tucanos, after months of bickering and time wasting. He took flak for paying for the Tucano without lawmakers approval.
These are the same Law Makers that, a month to christmas lit their hair on fire screaming we are about to lose the $460 million we paid for the Tucano aircraft because we do not have standard runways. We will lose our $450 unless the President approves NINE BILLION NAIRA
..for the construction of a new runway. At first glance one would think this was some April Fools joke or prank because of the infantile nature of the argument. The NAF Air Chief blasted the law makers for not consulting with the NAF before making such bogus claims.
The Air Chief became the number one enemy of the House. The slogan ever since became fire service chiefs at every given opportunity. That aside, claiming they gave the President a blank check is bogus. President Executive did not need a blank cheque to carry out
..the largest re-armament program in the history of the Nigerian military. People think Boko Haram is all Nigeria has to contend with. The forget the threat posed by Boko Haram is nothing compared to to the threat posed by armed pirates in the Gulf of Guinea that holds 80%
of Nigeria's oil offshore infrastructure. Many Nigerians are not even aware the Gulf of Guinea is the most dangerous waterway in the world, relegating Somalia to second place when it comes to the issue of piracy. These militants have the capacity to bring Nigeria to its knees
In ways Boko Haram can only dream of. The President responded by building the largest Navy in Sub Saharan Africa.

During Obangame 2020 the participants were stunned!!. Spread out before them was the largest flotilla Nigeria had ever put to sea at one time, 70 ships,
Maritime Patrol Plane, over a dozen helicopters and 2000 SBS Commandoes. In 2016 the President undertook a sweeping project to turn the Nigerian Navy into a world class fighting force.
The Navy has made significant progress in the recapitalisation of its fleet. Nigeria's navy battle force has more than tripled in size. Over the last five years, the Nigerian Navy has acquired a total of 378 platforms, including 172 patrol boats, 114 RHIBs,
two SDB's, 12 Manta class boats, three Whaler boats, three tugs, 22 fast attack boats, 14 UAVs, six helicopters, 14 River Town class boats, 12 four capital ships. Just last week the Navy announced its aquiring a new Frigate to replace the Thunder as the Navys flagship.
The Nigerian Navy is not receiving junk or second assets, but rather increasingly sophisticated, capable vessels. The days of aquiring second hands are over. From 2015 till date every weapons system aquired by the Army, Navy and Air Force have been brand new. Every single asset.
The reason the Navy is not having a tough time in the Gulf of Guinea is because we are not sorrounded by back stabing neighbours in the Atlantic. The Nigerian navy today almost single handedly guarantees freedom of passage in West African waters.
The Nigerian army, like the navy is undergoing the largest expansion program in its history. New battle tanks, lots of MRAPs, new field artillery gun systems, new fire support vessels, new combat kits, lots and lots of Special Forces units. Why is the Nigerian army
..having challenges when the navy is not? Its simple. We can kill as many insurgents as we want. If they are able to flee the country, lick their wounds and live to fight another day we will be stuck in a long drawn out bitter war of attrition. If militants are able to
..call in reinforcements, have arms merchants from Niger deliver tons and tons of weapons and basically have external entities interfering in our domestic affairs, then we are in for a rough period. Remember the the Paris based NGO Action against Hunger?
These guys were caught in the forest delivering food and medicine to Boko Haram fighters. You would think they at least give excuses. They were defiant..to quote them verbatim

QUOTE

We make no distinction when it comes to human lives. We believe all humans are the same. "
The Nigerian army gave them 24 hours to leave the country. UNICEF intervened. The western powers have been adamanant in asking Nigeria to accept foreign aid groups. They are unrelenting in this regard.
Our law makers are selfishly playing dirty politics instead of genuinely seeking solutions to the problem. I find it unfathomable that our law makers are using these tragic events to push their political careers. They can easily submit a bill asking the Exevutive branch
..for a complete shutdown of Nigerias land border until we figure out what heck is going on and go after arms smugglers. Mandating all entries into Nigeria to be via air, where there can be proper scrutiny and checks. Instead they are going on televeision looking for clout
..and competing for who hates the President the most. Even Atiku Abubakar today posted a FAKE News report.
Our political elite do not care about us. They are using these tragic events to boost their stock pretending they care. They are not interested in finding long lasting solutions. Instead they engage in meaningless bickering.
