Template for cold DMs:

Hi [name] -

[Insert *short* praise.]

[1-2 *short* sentences for context.]

[Tell them your ask *concisely*.]

[Insert link to company page, if relevant]

That's it.
Example:
Hi J -

Your video on imposter syndrome really struck a chord!

I'm also building with video to create space for authentic conversations. I'd love to learn more about how you incorporate video in your offerings.

Some guiding principles:

1/ If their tweets are short, keep your DM short.

If their tweets are long, still keep yours short.

They shouldn't have to scroll to read the full message.
2/ Use spacing to your advantage.

Skip rows for the message to feel shorter and more digestible.
3/ If you're asking to jump on a call, give them just enough info for them to be interested.

Don't give them a reason to say no by saying more than you have to.
4/ If they're a "celebrity", you're balancing:

- showing them that you've done your homework
- enough context for them to feel like they can contribute
- hook for them to want to help

Still keep it short.
5/ Come off human and build a relationship.

People hate feeling like they're being sold to.
6/ Act of service

Show that you're just as interested in helping them as you are for them to help you.
