I just want all edu leaders to know that when y’all talk about “learning loss” and “getting kids caught back up” or whatever else you have to say to justify *gestures at the state of education in our nation as we are STILL in a pandemic*...it goes in one ear and out the other.
Y’all didn’t seem to care about the mental health & well-being of all Ss—especially BISOC, queer kids, fat kids, Ss living in poverty, immigrant Ss, ELLs—before all this happened. So I question why the sudden concern?
I’m not hating on the concern, but I question your motives. And I question the concern because...who are you centering?
Stop bringing teachers into your mess. Just let us exist & survive the year with students.
And for the record, this isn’t directed at a single person, district, etc. I’m talking about education across the country. If you feel targeted, I encourage you to look within. Ask yourself. Don’t ask me.
