Ghostbur‘s limbo is an ocean and he is standing on a boat much too small for him
Problem is he can still see the shore, and he tries to reach it, because it just looks so CLOSE, just within his reach, but he turns to nothingness the moment before he reaches the shore and wakes up again, on that small boat, alone and afraid and without his Friend
Blue doesn’t help here, hell he doesn’t even have any blue to try to convince him that he will be okay. So he sits, and he waits, and he wonders if Tommy meant to lie to him, if he meant to break his promise. He knows he didn’t really MEAN to, but it still hurts
So he sits, and he waits, and he waits, and he wonders if Friend, Tommy, or anyone at that, is waiting for him to come back, if they even want him to come back
I think it’s quiet, much to quiet of an ocean to be real, and I think that’s what’s most unsettling. The silence. I think sometimes he wishes the ocean would churn with fury, would threaten to overtake his small raft, but the waves are calm and he can only continue to wait
He wants to feel angry but he just can’t bring himself to hate Tommy, because he saw how much that kid tried to convince The Warden to save him and how he tried to calm him down, and he just wishes that kindness Tommy had shown could be replicated by those around him
