Remember when it was a very big deal that Apple's market cap hit $1 trillion? That was 2018. Now:

Apple $2.2 trillion
Microsoft: $1.9 trillion
Amazon: $1.8 trillion
Alphabet: $1.6 trillion
Facebook: $940 billion
Amazon's market cap grew BY ALMOST A FACEBOOK ($860 billion) just since the beginning of 2020.
Also, may I just note that I got the words "Bonkers Dollars" into a headline.

In The New York Times.

Thank you.
I look forward to U.S. senators discussing Facebook's 43% operating margins as the next congressional grilling.
Another wild thing is that the tech giants aren't just capitalizing on pandemic-altered habits. They're leaning into the pandemic.

They're cutting expenses where it matters less and spending big to extend their advantage. Like @KYWeise said: https://twitter.com/KYWeise/status/1387878107709726722
I cannot explain how wild all these numbers are. There is a pandemic. The U.S. economy contracted last year.

It was no sure thing that big tech companies would do fine. {NARRATOR's VOICE: THEY DID VERY FINE.}

A year ago, I really didn't think Big Tech would do awesome IN A PANDEMIC.

{NARRATOR's VOICE: I WAS WRONG.}
