Viotti - Concerto No. 18 in E minor

Scenes - Ep 1 burn burn burn the vineyard, Ep 18 after shooting Han Seok’s ear 👂🏻

Giovanni Battista Viotti, Italian composer/violinist, musical director of the new opera concerts, acting manager of Italian opera.
Rossini - Barber of Seville Overture

Scenes - the theme of the overture appears in almost every episode (See 2:09 mark) esp. comedic scenes.

Gioachino Rossini, Italian composer of 39 operas - composed “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, is a comic opera masterpiece.
Beethoven - Sonata Pathetique Op. 13, 1st mvt

Scene - Ep 1 when V saw tenants for the first time (also Ep 18 before Miri was kidnapped too)

Beethoven’s Pathetique begins with a dark and dramatic introduction, evoking a sense of mystery.
Mascagni - Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana

Scenes - Theme appears in a lot of soft and heartwarming scenes. (Ok fine plus V’s shower scene without the hot water.)

Cavalleria rusticana an opera in one act by Pietro Mascagni, includes an betrayal and a duel to the death.
The ‘Intermezzo’ theme was also used in Ep 5 and 6. The tune actually suggests both the peace and conflict, the intense individual feelings of the leads.
Same theme could also be heard in Ep 11 as they welcomed their Corn Salad back, Ep 17 when they supported Vincenzo after his eomma’s death and his Ep 18 send off to the airport. Ugh Geumga family 🥺
di Capua - O Sole Mio

Scenes - main theme used in a lot of scenes as bgm, also Mr. Ahn singing the first line too.

di Capua, a Neapolitan composer, wrote ‘O sole mio’ that translates literally as "my sun" or "my sunshine" mirroring Mr Ahn’s admiration for the Corn Salad 🌽
Mendelssohn - Italian Symphony

intended to evoke the sights and sounds of Italy, to convey a series of impressions of Italy – Mediterranean sunshine, religious solemnity, monumental art and architecture, and open countryside.

Scenes - ang dami. Hahaha ✌🏻
Mozart - Lacrimosa

Scene - Ep 4, HCY grieving at the cemetery

Lacrimosa, part of the “Requiem Mass”also known as Mass for the dead. Beautiful yet gravely solemn, unfinished at the time of Mozart’s death.
Mozart described death as “no longer terrifying to me, but is indeed very soothing and consoling.” Indeed reflected in his requiem, Sad yet solemn, somber yet grand.
First few bars of the Lacrimosa. https://twitter.com/binjinsaudade/status/1381795071649927173
And this one by @tobeezoo is just perfection. It hurts but bravo on the parallels. My fave. https://twitter.com/tobeezoo/status/1381254920041492480
Handel - Ombra Mai Fu

Scenes - Ep 4&17- Atty Hong’s/Oh Gyeong-ja’s death.

also known as "Largo from Xerxes", is the opening aria by Handel. Slow and melancholic, “The shade of these woods creates a peace and beauty like no other”.
Pain. And more pain. 💔 https://twitter.com/spacedseas/status/1385975849359454214
Puccini - Nessun Dorma

Scene - Ep 4 last scene. FAVE!!

Tramontate, stelle!
All’alba, vincerò!
Vincerò! Vincerò

Fade, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

It’s the “We are the Champions” in the classical music world. Hahaha. A victorious cry, Vincerò! 🤌🏻
Full orchestral version is just soooo grand. Can imagine this for Ep 20 when we all finally say “Vincerò!” https://twitter.com/binjinsaudade/status/1384718080958423041
Rimsky Korsakov - Flight of the Bumblebee

Scene - Ep 6 courtroom chaos 🐝
Verdi - L’onore l’adri from “Falstaff”

Scene - Ep 4 while V was drinking wine, watching the opera “Falstaff”, which was also the last opera that Verdi composed.

It was here when V said, “If I am indeed evil, it’s because of you.”
Debussy - Clair de lune

Scene - Ep 7, looking at Delacroix’ “Liberty Leading the People” Painting
Vivaldi - Violin Concerto Op. 4 No. 6, I - Allegro

Scene - Ep 12, Consigliere sipping wine, phone call with Babo.

Also can I just say, Vincenzo and his fave Italian composers. Verdi, Vivaldi, Viotti. All V’s ✌🏻
Elgar - Salut d’Amour Op 12

Scene - Ep 14, coz you can’t postpone a kiss 💋

Edward wrote the piece for his bride, which he called Liebesgruss (Love's Greeting), later on renamed Salut d'Amour, as an engagement gift. Driven by love, the composer set his feelings to music ❤️
Verdi - “Va pensiero” (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Nabucco

Scene - Ep 1 Vincenzo at Arno for the first time, Ep 18, Babel meeting, among others. (Theme used a lot as well)
