Here is the captain picks analysis for GW 34

In this week's captain thread we take a deep look into 3 fixtures and find out who is potentially the best captain!

Here's a comparison table of defenses for the last 4 weeks
Credit to @ffscout for inspiring this thinking process.
⚪️ Kane vs Sheffield United (H)
Over the last 4 week SHU have conceded 10 big chances and are ranked 6th for mins per xG conceded.
They have concede a big chance every 38.1mins.
Sheffield's number have slightly improved on paper only because of the Wolves game. Wolves are the second worst attack in the league and hence that improvement. Also they were really lucky against Brighton to keep that clean sheet.
Away from home Sheffield have been the 3rd worst defense with a mins per xG conceded of 43.8 mins in the last 4 matches.

Kane in the same period has an xGI of 4.4. He is first for Big chances accumulated and 2nd for Shots inside the Box.
He was also pictured in training today and hence should be starting.

Sheffield are also the 3rd worst team in term of conceding chances through the center which should help Kane.
In the last match Son was playing as a second striker although his numbers in comparison to Kane are very inferior, hence I prefer Kane.
🔵Iheanacho vs SOU(A)
Southampton are the 4th worst team in terms of Mins per Big Chance conceded over the season. In the last 4 games they have conceded a big chance every 34.7 mins and have a Mins per XG conceded of 56.8 mins.
When you look at the numbers carefully their Mins per Non Pen xG is 87.8. In last 4 games they have conceded 3 penalties as well.

Iheanacho is 3rd for XGI(2.64) amongst forwards.
He is also 3rd for Shots and Shots inside the Box over the last 4 games.
And not to mention Iheanacho is in red hot form. He also created 2 big chances in the last game alone.

Vardy can also be a decent pick for this game only due to the penalties even though Iheanacho's numbers are much better.
Vardy vs Iheanacho ( Last 4 matches)
Mins Per Big Chance: 118.3 vs 171
Mins Per Shot In The Box: 50.7 vs 34.2
Mins Per xGI: 192.9 vs 129.5
Mins Per BPS: 17.8 vs 8.8
🟣 BUR vs WHU

This fixture offers great differential options.
Burnley are the 5th worst team in term of Mins per Big Chances Conceded(every 34.3 mins).
In the last 4 matches they are also 7th worse for Mins per xG conceded.
Over the same period WHU have created a Big Chance every 43 mins. This number further improves Away from home to 38.3 mins.

Lingard can be a good option if Cresswell is fit for the game. Lingard has been dropping in very deep in his absence.
Lingard with Cresswell (gw27-31) vs Without Cresswell(gw31-32)
Mins Per xGI: 145.7 vs 177
Penalty Area Touches: 15 vs 3
Mins Per Chance Created: 89 vs 177
Mins per Big Chances: 89 vs 176
When we look at WHU defensively are the 7th worst team in term of Mins per Big Chances Conceded(every 35.2 mins).
In the last 4 matches they are also 5th worse for Mins per xG conceded (49.2).
WHU are also 5th worst for shots conceded inside the box (42).
This stat particularly helps 1 player, Chris Wood.

In the last 4 games Wood is 2nd for XGI (3.69).
Wood over the same period is 1st for Shots, Shots inside the Box and Penalty Area Touches.
He is also 2nd for Big chances. Wood is the perfect differential this week.
🔵 CRY vs MCI
If you have Mahrez or KDB or Sterling you can Captain them but their start is doubtful. Also its very unlikely that they make it to the 70 min mark if they start. Hence avoiding Captaincy on them is the best.
Incase you still want to take a punt...
...do select a decent VC and also hope that you player either starts or doesn't come off the bench.
Here's a comparison between the Top captain candidates and according to us:
1) Kane is the best pick this week
Followed by
2) Wood and
3) Lingard (Only if Cresswell is Available)
4) Iheanacho/Vardy

If you're worried about EO Kane is your man.
