● No traditional Calder Cup Playoffs and no Calder Cup champion.

● Only the Pacific Division will host a postseason (format TBD).

● All other divisions will crown a regular-season champion by point percentage.

If you are surprised by this news, well, then you probably don't follow this Twitter account.

The goal for NHL teams this season was to put their prospects on the ice as much as possible. That mission was accomplished.

In general, though, there would be minimal playoff revenue for either teams or players, to say nothing of the vast geography of the Canadian Division.

At least the Pacific Division will play, and that is a wildly entertaining division every single night.

Resources (financial, time, and otherwise) that would be put toward an extensive postseason are resources that can instead be directed toward a strong 2021-22 start.
The bottom line almost everything in the next five months is about 2021-22.

A strong return is critical, and teams are focused on that.
