if you write about [situation] but you don't get the crucial relevant details about [situation] right, then you're not actually telling a story about [situation] anymore so things fall flat.

and for this specific [situation] i think there is quite a lot of rl moral value in getting it right bc this dynamic isn't even remotely a hypothetical and it's not super intuitive when you grow up insulated from it and think all economics work like lemonade stands.

anyways i'm going to stop getting pre-emptively mad about things that haven't even been hinted at and start rubbing my chin about the saltery again.

this is a subject i find very very interesting but don't know nearly as much about as i want to so ffxiv is just kind of the thing prodding me to wander down this hole and the thing i exercise what i learn on by thinking through how it works now/into the future.
