A note to authors feeling disappointed by their sales in #IndieApril:

If you're feeling down this month, you're not alone. April has been my worst month, by far.

Keep in mind that lots of authors ran sales & focused on marketing. Overall, I think indie April is great.

But...

Since there were so many discounts & an uptick in authors promoting their work, the sales have been more spread out.

This is good for indies overall, but not great for us individually.

So what's my take away from this? Promotion works! Don't just do it one month a year.

#Readers: Don't just focus on indie work in April. There are TONS of amazing indie books that deserve to be enjoyed all year long.

#Writers: Promote often. You will get the sales, but it's a ton of work.

So don't be discouraged. Your books are fantastic and so are you!
