the performance/stage analysis of Rhythm Ta "The Awakening of Summer" by Ateez

at the beginning of the performance we see an eye on the screen
as i mentioned in my previous theories, this eye represents the power controlling ateez, eye watches them everytime and everything they do but HOW? i'll explain later

in this part it says
"there is a disease in the heart of man, the disease is human emotion" it was a reference to the movie "Equilibrium"

Equilibrium and the references:

"after WW3, those of us who survived knew mankind could never survive, so we have created a new arm of the law to seek out and eradicate the true source of Man's inhumanity to Man. His ability to FEEL"

all kinds of art were prohibited in the movie because they make human "FEEL"

even in one scene the main character finds the original Mona Lisa painting and "burns" it, does it sound familiar?

the answer is YES!

to sum up the movie;
the main character is a bad man who acts like he doesn't feel anything but he actually starts feeling emotions
at the beginning of the movie he wears black outfit but it turns into white when he starts "feeling"

familiar again? remember masked man

i'm planning to make a special thread for "Equilibrium" references in ateez' concept because there are so many, i recommend you to watch the movie!

let's turn back to the performance!
the thing hongjoong holds shows the plan of the place and "the cromer" as the "target"

ateez enter the place with a van and take down the security, they take the control
the mask they wear is the comedy-tragedy mask, it represents the emotions in theatre

the dancers

against them helping them
wear like this wear like this

"the central government defined the black pirates as a terrorist"

let's start talking about halateez

this ateez we see in this performance is actually halateez, they are wearing that black outfit, fedora hat and mask just to hide their identity and now they broke into "Bank of Art" to free the art and emotions that the government prohibited

you can see hongjoong listens to music while "robbing" the place during his rap part and dancers are dancing behind him, they are anarchists just like they said while they were explaining halateez/fedoraz

i really like this part because the way they showed how the mic broke their earphones was genius

and hongjoong gives his speech:

"people! open your eyes for our lives! keep your mind! now is the time for freedom if we try! listen look write! OPEN YOUR EYES!"

"HEARTS AWAKENED, LIVE ALIVE"

to sum up;

1. they are the ones in hala costumes(fedoraz)
2.they wear them to hide their identity
3.they break into the place to steal or to free the art that government prohibited because "art makes people feel emotions"
4.they want to open people's eyes

5.they used comedy-tragedy mask to represent the real or fake human emotions
6.they are anarchists against the government that prohibits the art and human emotions from people
7.they took the cromer to help another ateez
8. their wonderland stage follows the rest of the story
