10 reasons the #Chargers should draft Christian Darrisaw, in no particular order:

1. This is the round you take offensive tackles (that aren't massive reaches cough Tytus Howard).
2. It isn't a reach to take him. Compiling 120 boards together has him ranked 15th. Horn is 14th. Neither should be considered reaches.
3. Darrisaw was a nobody with offers to nobody colleges...and Virginia Tech.

He's going to be a first-round pick tonight and he got there by working his ass off and developing.
4. Penalties...or lack thereof

Darrisaw has 3 the past two seasons.

Jenkins and Slater have 19 combined over that same period.
5. He fits what the Chargers (I assume) are going to be running with Herbert-Lombardi-Staley
6. Equally balanced as a run and pass blocker.

While I'm not a fan of their database it is worth noting Darrisaw is one of only two tackles to grade in the 90s in RBLK and PBLK this past season, per PFF (I know)

For reference, Jenkins graded 93.6 RBLK but 76.3 PBLK
7. Rounds 2 and 3 will likely have better defensive talent than offensive tackle talent.

The decision may come down to reaching for Christensen, Little, Hudson, Carman, etc. OR taking Grant, Tryon, Samuel Jr., Turner, Adebo, Campbell, Ossai, Basham, etc.

Draft smart here.
8. He physically checks the box for Telesco left tackles, particularly with his arm length.
9. Tom Telesco has shown he can find DB talent after Round 1 and Brandon Staley has shown he can scheme up talent from after Round 1.

Set and forget Darrisaw --> play around with defense the rest of the way. Staley and Hill will make it work.
10. Justin Herbert.
