THREAD:
1) The on-going war in today’s Afghanistan is not only fought across battlefields of Helmand, Kandahar, Mazar or Herat. There is another war going on and this is the war for the minds and hearts of the people of Afghanistan.

2) A war that has targeted the Afghan people specifically and is being undertaken very methodically and systemically using a variety of old and new media to feed propaganda, misinformation, disinformation, subliminal and targeted messages to the public.

3) This war has targeted the Afghan people at large, scholars, civil society, women, youth, government staff, and politicians and is bombarding them daily with disinformation, misinformation and propaganda with the sole purpose of imposing a certain viewpoint.

4) A certain viewpoint that aims to understate the achievements of the Afghan people, the infrastructure built, to weaken and make look bad the state of Afghanistan and #ANDSF for one purpose only: to destroy the unity and morale of a nation standing under one flag.

5) Now, projects like this are often used as means of propaganda, psychological warfare and are conducted by professionals who have been educated and trained in very particular fields and is not really a forte of groups that are more into suicide bombings, kidnapping and etc.

6) It is imperative at the end of the day, to know these things, to know the difference between information, data, misinformation, propaganda and just … crap. Consider your sources, vet them, cross-check the information. Make sure what you read is the TRUTH.
